_jakartakita.com: Combating drug crimes in Indonesia can only be done by synergizing the three strategies at once, that is: enforcement, eradication and prevention. If the government just focus on one aspect and ignore the others, it's hard hope felony drug will completely down to the roots. Thus the results of research conducted Indonesia media Media Monitoring Center (IMMC) delivered via a release.
To that end, according to Muhammad Farid, Director of Research IMMC requires coordination, cooperation and mutual support between various state institutions. Starting from the police, the government, the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the judiciary and prosecutors, as well as the various elements of society.

Based on the findings of IMMC, in the past year on the issue of drug coverage, picketing only 18% of the total 1694 news. The highest is reporting on drug crimes Repression (38%) and drug eradication (28%). While reporting about the issue of regulation for 13% and 3% for Rehabilitation.

According to Farid, prevention is the most important strategy to tackle drug-related crime in the long run. In fact, enforcement and eradication measures would be meaningless, if not followed up with preventive measures. Therefore, the government should further strengthen these measures and prevention strategies.

For precaution, IMMC found that the government is the main subject. Of the 18% reporting on prevention, 33% put the government as the main subject. Under the BNN was 22%, 21% police, Academic 9%, 6% private, and NGO 5%.

"This shows that among the three main subjects of drug crime prevention measures, the government became the most important yag. Police and BNN more focus on enforcement and eradication measures. Government assumed the responsibility of prevention is ideally implemented in co-regulation. With the strict regulations, drug crimes will be further minimized, "said Farid.

Farid continued that there are three forms of government policies to be born. First, the policies that are adaptable to the recurrence of a similar mode of drug crimes in the future. Secondly, says Farid, deconstructive policy. That is, being able infiltrates to the root of the problem is the emergence of drug action.

"The third is a constructive policy. That is, contribute to the establishment of state and national systems that are not only free from drugs, but antipatik against illicit goods, "said Farid.

But unfortunately, Farid says, the findings indicate that the level of public IMMC still rate the government has not been optimal in performing the role of prevention. From a variety of reports which highlight questions about the government policies related to drug crimes, 41% of them negative. Only 11% and 47% the positi neutral tone.

Farid said that it indicates the public is still not satisfied with the performance of the government. The decision to grant clemency to Corby and policies of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights dismiss MoU with BNN, one indication of dissatisfaction among them. Granting clemency to Corby inkonsitensi perceived as the government's commitment to drug eradication. While the termination of MoU with BNN is considered to undermine the solidity drug eradication strategy.

So far it has done a variety of drug prevention strategies. IMMC findings indicate there are at least three strategies were performed. The most dominant is the socialization or kapanye anti drugs that reach 48% coverage, cooperation among the various agencies and stakeholders last 315 news and 19% of community empowerment.

"The strategy of empowerment is still very minimal done. In fact, this is a very effective, because it would involve a full awareness of all members of society as the subject of drug prevention and government partners to address the issues. So next, empowerment strategies need to be strengthened, "said Farid.

Farid explains that socialization strategy or campaign, according to the findings of IMMC, there are several forms of socialization that has been done. Socialization is the most widely performed through media coverage and socialization in educational institutions, namely 50%. Additionally socialization by organizing anti-drug events (15%), seminar (12%), Advertising (10%), Internet (7%) and Exhibition (3%).

Socialization strategy, Farid explained that the government should take a more pragmatic level compatible with the target age socialization. If not, would not be effective socialization. For example, for young people, internet and events is a relevant approach. Education about the dangers of drugs, said Farid, should not be submitted with the rigid approach and textual. But with a soft and contextual approach.

"Based on the findings of IMMC, at the level of drug users aged less than 15 years to 24 years to reach 26%. This age group will be effective if given the anti-drug dissemination in accordance with the character of their world, "said Farid.
